The Ed Brown Signature Edition is based on the timeless Classic Custom pistol, with hand relief engraving by their master engraver. This pistol represents the ultimate in quality firearm craftsmanship at its finest. This is quite simply the finest production pistol available anywhere, at any price.

If you are a true admirer of the classic 1911 gun, then the Ed Brown Signature Edition .45 is definitely worth considering. This gun is intricately engraved and designed with the utmost care, making it the perfect showpiece. The floral pattern on the gun covers almost 100% of the surface, except for the bottom of the frame and the top of the slide. The slide is polished before engraving, and a part of the slide flats is left with a bright finish. The inscriptions "Signature Edition" and "Custom By Ed Brown" can be found on the slide, which features traditional square-cut cocking serrations at the rear. The custom rib on the slide is created by first flattening the area, then serrating it from front to back, and finally relieving and polishing it to give the impression of a raised rib. The trigger guard, beavertail safety, slide release, barrel bushing, and single-side safety all bear engravings. The raised magazine release is cross-hatched at 40 lines per inch, and the back of the slide has horizontal serrations that match the rear of the melted-in adjustable sight. Even the grip screws have a floral pattern that matches the rest of the engraving. The gun comes with two magazines, one of which has an engraving on the lower portion, while the other is plain (not included in this specific model). Both magazines have bottom bumpers installed. The front and rear of the frame are treated with checkering, while the grips are Cocobolo Checkered Double Diamond Wood. The engraver responsible for this masterpiece is a secret, at least for now. "Our engraver is a master who does not seek fame or want to work with the public," the folks at Ed Brown Products explained. "After his retirement, we will reveal his identity." Each gun is built to order and takes around nine months to complete. After so many years, John Browning, the inventor of the 1911, would undoubtedly be proud of his creation, and the Ed Brown Signature Edition would surely be at the top of his list. If you are looking for a true heirloom gun and have the cash to spare, you can't go wrong with this one!
