The Frommer Stop is a uniquely engineered semi-automatic pistol developed in Hungary by the small arms manufacturer Fegyver és Gépgyár (FÉG) during the early 20th century. Designed by prolific Hungarian firearms inventor Rudolf Frommer, the pistol was finalized in 1912 and entered service in 1914, just before the outbreak of World War I. What makes the Frommer Stop particularly distinct is its long-recoil operation system, a mechanism rarely used in pistols, where both the barrel and bolt recoil together before separating to cycle the next round. This design, more commonly seen in rifles or shotguns, gave the pistol an unusual internal layout and elongated frame.
