The FN 509 Compact Tactical is a striker-fired 9mm pistol that combines everyday carry dimensions with full tactical capabilities. Measuring 7.4 inches in overall length and weighing about 26 ounces unloaded, it features a 4.32-inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel threaded ½”×28 for suppressors or muzzle devices, complete with a thread protector. The slide is cut for FN’s Low-Profile Optics Mounting System™, which is compatible with over ten popular miniature red-dot footprints, giving the shooter a wide range of optic choices. Suppressor-height Trijicon green tritium night sights come standard, allowing co-witness with mounted optics and providing excellent visibility in low-light conditions. The polymer frame incorporates aggressive but comfortable texturing, interchangeable backstraps for a customized fit, and ambidextrous controls including the slide stop and magazine release. Front and rear slide serrations make manipulation easy under a variety of conditions.
