The Glock 17 Gen5 is the modern evolution of the full-size 9mm pistol that established Glock’s global reputation for reliability and performance. Retaining its proven polymer-frame design, the Gen5 iteration incorporates a range of enhancements, including the precision-engineered Glock Marksman Barrel for greater accuracy and a refined internal system that replaces traditional leaf springs with more durable coil springs, extending service life. In response to user feedback, Glock removed the finger grooves from the grip frame, allowing the pistol to fit a wider range of hand sizes more comfortably. The Modular Backstrap System (MBS) enables further customization, and optional beavertail inserts help prevent slide bite for shooters with larger hands. The black polymer frame features precise texturing and a recessed thumb rest to improve control during rapid fire. A standard accessory rail positioned ahead of the trigger guard accommodates tactical lights, lasers, or other attachments, making the Glock 17 Gen5 an adaptable and duty-ready sidearm for law enforcement, military, and civilian defensive use alike.
