The Glock P80 Retro Reissue is a modern commemorative reproduction of the original Austrian military service pistol that launched the Glock handgun dynasty. Produced by Glock Ges.m.b.H. in partnership with distributor Lipsey’s, the reissued P80 was introduced in 2020 as a limited-production firearm designed to closely replicate the historic Pistole 80, the handgun originally adopted by the Austrian Army in 1982 and later released commercially as the Glock 17. Built as a faithful throwback to the first-generation Glock pistols, the modern P80 retains many of the distinctive design elements that characterized the earliest examples, including a single-pin polymer frame, a wraparound pebble-grain grip texture, a smooth trigger face, a flat extractor, and the absence of an accessory rail or finger grooves. Chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum and operating with Glock’s striker-fired Safe Action system, the pistol features a 4.49-inch barrel, a 17-round double-stack magazine, and the simple control layout that helped establish Glock’s reputation for reliability and ease of maintenance.
