The H&R Model 999 “Sportsman” is a charmingly old-school .22-caliber revolver that marries quirky vintage engineering with genuinely useful accuracy and utility: designed as a top-break, double-action nine-shot rimfire, the Sportsman opens by lifting the rear sight assembly so the barrel and cylinder hinge downward and an automatic extractor snaps up to eject all cartridges—an elegant, nostalgic feature that makes loading and unloading fast and satisfying.
