The Harrington & Richardson Model 929 “Sidekick,” introduced in 1956, is a solid-frame, double-action rimfire revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a nine-shot swing-out cylinder. The original (first) model was produced from 1956–1973; a second model with a transfer-bar safety/ignition system followed in 1974 and remained in production until 1986. The Sidekick was available with 2 1/2", 4", and 6" barrels and in either round- or square-butt configurations, typically finished in durable blue and fitted with checkered plastic grips. With simple fixed sights and a straightforward, dependable design, it earned a reputation as a reliable revolver for plinking and small-game use.
