The Heckler & Koch VP9SK is a subcompact variant of the VP Series handgun chambered in 9mm, designed to retain the core mechanical features and ergonomics of larger VP pistols in a more compact and concealable configuration. It utilizes the same striker-fired operating system and trigger design as the standard VP9, featuring a short take-up, a consistent break, and a tactile reset. The VP9SK incorporates HK’s modular grip system, featuring interchangeable backstraps and lateral grip panels to accommodate a wide range of hand sizes, along with molded finger grooves on the front strap of the grip frame. The pistol is equipped with fully ambidextrous controls, including slide release levers on both sides of the frame, HK’s paddle-style magazine release, and HK charging supports at the rear of the slide to aid manipulation. It is compatible with multiple HK magazines, including flush-fit 10-round magazines and extended 13 and 15-round magazines. An abbreviated Picatinny MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail molded into the polymer frame allows for the mounting of lights or lasers. The VP9SK features a captive flat recoil spring assembly to manage recoil and employs a cold hammer-forged, polygonal-rifled barrel made from high-strength steel. Its machined steel slide is treated with HK’s corrosion-resistant surface finish, and the pistol is manufactured at Heckler & Koch’s facility in Germany for civilian, law enforcement, and military markets.
