Item Description
Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this Collectible high-end semi-automatic pistol for a penny-start auction; this is the High Standard Supermatic Trophy.
The High Standard Supermatic Trophy Military represents the final chapter in the company’s storied line of American-made target pistols, produced from late May 1981 through October 1984. Distinguished from the earlier 107 Series by its cost-reduction design, this model replaced the traditional push-button barrel takedown with an Allen-head screw securing the barrel to the frame, while retaining the proven accuracy and handling of the Trophy platform. Featuring a 7.25" fluted barrel, military-style grips, and “SH” prefix serial numbers, these pistols occupy a clearly defined production range, with a small number of anomalies adding further collector intrigue. As the last Supermatic series before High Standard’s closure, the Trophy Military holds particular historical relevance and is increasingly recognized as a meaningful and collectible endpoint to one of America’s most respected rimfire target pistol lineages.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The High Standard Supermatic Trophy is a classic American target pistol renowned for its precision, balance, and competition-oriented design. Produced during the golden age of U.S. rimfire pistol manufacturing, the Supermatic Trophy was developed as an evolution of High Standard’s successful Supermatic line, intended specifically for bullseye and precision target shooting. Chambered in .22 LR, it typically features a heavy, precision-machined barrel, adjustable target sights, and an ergonomically designed grip angle that promotes natural pointability. High Standard’s push-button barrel takedown system allowed shooters to easily change barrels, adding versatility and making the platform adaptable to different competition disciplines. From a performance and historical perspective, the Supermatic Trophy is widely regarded as one of the finest production .22 target pistols of its era, often compared favorably to contemporaries from Colt and Smith & Wesson. Its excellent trigger quality, inherent accuracy, and soft recoil made it a staple on firing lines across the United States for decades. Today, the Supermatic Trophy is highly respected by collectors and competitive shooters alike, especially in original condition with period-correct components. It represents High Standard’s peak commitment to precision craftsmanship and remains a benchmark for American-made rimfire target pistols, embodying both competitive heritage and enduring collectibility.
