The Ithaca Model 72A “Deluxe” is a tube-fed .22-caliber lever-action saddlegun produced for Ithaca in West Germany by Erma Werke and imported to the U.S. from 1974 to 1976; the Deluxe variant is distinguished by a silver-finished, scroll-engraved receiver, an 18–18.5" full-octagon blue barrel with a full-length tubular magazine, sporting sights, and a high-gloss walnut buttstock and forend fitted with a serrated steel buttplate. Most examples were chambered in .22 LR, with some related Model 72 variants also offered in .22 WMR. Surviving 72A Deluxe rifles are relatively scarce and collectible today, most often encountered in collector circles.
