The Tavor SAR is a rugged, battle-proven bullpup rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO, featuring a 16.5" barrel and a compact, modern design optimized for both military and civilian use. Introduced to the U.S. market in 2014, the Tavor SAR quickly gained popularity, becoming the first bullpup-style centerfire rifle to earn mainstream acceptance in the United States. Its rapid success can be attributed to its combat pedigree as the standard-issue rifle of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), where it has proven its reliability in some of the world’s harshest environments. The bullpup configuration allows for a full-length barrel in a much shorter overall package, giving the Tavor exceptional maneuverability without sacrificing velocity or accuracy. Recognizing its innovation and battlefield performance, American Rifleman magazine awarded the Tavor SAR the prestigious Golden Bullseye “Rifle of the Year” in 2014.

Built for versatility and durability, the Tavor SAR Flattop model includes a full-length Picatinny rail along the top of the receiver, allowing for easy mounting of optics, lights, or other tactical accessories. Additionally, it includes a secondary 45°-angled short rail opposite the non-reciprocating charging handle, enhancing its modularity for modern shooting configurations. The rifle’s fully ambidextrous controls, simple field-stripping process, and sealed internal action further reflect its battlefield origins, offering reliability in extreme conditions and minimal maintenance.
