The Jennings J-22 is a compact, ultra-lightweight semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 LR, designed during the height of the inexpensive pocket-pistol era of the late 20th century and produced by Jennings/Bryco as part of the so-called “Saturday Night Special” family of firearms. Built with a simple blowback action, the J-22 features a zinc-alloy (Zamak) frame and slide, which allowed it to be manufactured inexpensively while keeping the overall weight extremely low, making it highly concealable and easy to carry in a pocket, ankle holster, or small bag. Its design incorporates a striker-fired mechanism, a six-round detachable magazine, and fixed sights, all wrapped in a compact silhouette measuring only a few inches.
