Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Kimber of Oregon Model 82 is a finely crafted American bolt-action rimfire rifle produced in Clackamas, Oregon, beginning around 1978–1980 and continuing through the 1980s. Widely regarded as one of the most refined .22-caliber sporting rifles of its era, it was offered in elegant sporter and custom-grade versions as well as heavier Government and target configurations. Most examples were chambered in .22 Long Rifle, with limited runs in .22 Magnum, .22 Hornet, and other uncommon chamberings. Typical rifles feature hand-checkered walnut stocks, polished blued steel, and match-grade barrels ranging from 18" to 25" in length. The action is notably smooth, employing dual locking lugs and an adjustable trigger, and rifles were built in both single-shot and detachable-magazine formats.

Receivers were machined for scope mounting or fitted with dovetail and iron-sight arrangements, while many target rifles carried peep and globe-sight combinations. Renowned for its exceptional accuracy, craftsmanship, and handling, the Model 82 earned enduring respect among small-bore competitors and hunters alike and later influenced Kimber’s move into centerfire designs.
