Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Llama Model XV is a compact, blowback-operated semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle, manufactured by Gabilondo y Cía (Llama) from 1954 to 1997. Designed to emulate the Colt 1911, it features a single-action trigger, manual thumb safety, grip safety, and a single-stack magazine. The pistol was produced with either a steel or aluminum alloy frame and offered variants with fixed or adjustable sights, as well as solid or vented ribbed slides. The Model XV was popular for recreational shooting and training, providing a low-recoil alternative to full-sized pistols. During the 1960s and 1970s, many Model XVs were imported into the United States by Stoeger Industries. Llama also offered a premium variant, the Model XVI, which featured better finishes and engraved artwork for collectors. Today, the Model XV is appreciated by collectors for its craftsmanship, reliability, and historical significance as part of Llama's legacy of producing Colt-inspired pistols.
