The Manurhin Model PP, produced in France under license from Carl Walther, is a historically significant semi-automatic pistol that exemplifies postwar European firearms manufacturing at a very high standard. Following World War II, Walther’s ability to produce pistols in Germany was restricted, leading to Manufacture de Machines du Haut-Rhin (Manurhin) assuming full production of the PP and PPK models beginning in the early 1950s. These pistols were built entirely in France using Walther tooling and technical drawings, and many were either proofed and marked in France or later finished and proofed in Ulm, Germany.
