The Mauser C96 is one of the most iconic and influential semi-automatic pistols of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, instantly recognizable by its distinctive “broomhandle” grip, long barrel, and fixed internal magazine mounted ahead of the trigger guard. Designed by the Feederle brothers and manufactured by Mauser beginning in 1896, the C96 was chambered most famously in 7.63×25mm Mauser, a high-velocity cartridge known for its flat trajectory and impressive penetration for the era, though the platform was also produced in other calibers, including 9×19mm Parabellum.
