The O.F. Mossberg & Sons Model 340KC is a late-1960s bolt-action .22 rimfire rifle built on Mossberg’s 340 series action and officially listed as manufactured from 1968 to 1971. Chambered to fire .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges, the 340KC came with a 24-inch blue barrel and a removable box magazine (the 340 family used detachable magazines of compatible types), giving it straightforward versatility for plinking, informal target work, and small-game use. Additionally, a blade front sight and an adjustable notch rear sight offer fast and accurate shooting. Like other 340 models, it features a hammerless, smooth-bolt design that shooters describe as durable and easy to maintain. It was offered in a plain, but well-fitted walnut (or stained hardwood) stock finished to period standards.
