Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Remington Model 41 “Targetmaster” is a classic American single-shot .22 rimfire rifle produced by Remington Arms from 1936 to 1939, when it was replaced by the Model 510 Targetmaster. Introduced as an improved successor to the earlier Model 33, the Model 41 features a simple, reliable bolt-action design, with a single cartridge loaded directly into the chamber. It was primarily chambered for .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle, with some variants available in .22 W.R.F. or smoothbore .22 shot. Most rifles had a 27-inch round barrel with iron sights and a one-piece walnut stock. The main grades offered were the 41A (standard) and 41P (peep sight), with additional variants including smoothbore and .22 W.R.F. models. Approximately 306,880 to 307,000 rifles were produced. Though its production span was brief, the Model 41 was widely regarded for its solid construction, versatility as a training and general-purpose rimfire rifle, and as a stepping stone in the evolution of Remington’s later single-shot rimfire designs.
