Its influence extended into military applications, notably shaping sniper rifles such as the M24 and M40, which became trusted tools for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. The Model 700's design accommodates various configurations, including both detachable box magazines and traditional internal magazines, enhancing its adaptability for diverse shooting preferences and environments. With a reputation for reliability, the Model 700 offers a wide range of stock, barrel, and caliber options, making it a benchmark in precision shooting. The Custom Shop Remington 700 exemplifies high-performance engineering tailored for precision shooting and reliability. At its core is a 20" fluted black steel barrel, which not only enhances the rifle's aesthetics but also contributes to reduced weight and improved cooling. The barrel features a 1:8 twist rate, ideal for stabilizing a range of bullet weights, and comes with 5/8x24 threads, complete with a thread protector for those who may wish to attach a suppressor or muzzle device. This feature allows for greater versatility in various shooting scenarios. Complementing the barrel is the Timney 700 trigger, known for its crisp break and adjustable settings, offering a trigger weight of just 2 oz. This is crucial for precision shooting, allowing for more controlled and accurate shots. The rifle employs a Remington model 700 short action DBM (detachable box magazine) with M5 Stealth bottom metal, facilitating quick reloading and enhancing the rifle's functionality during extended shooting sessions. The Ghillie Green finish on the Hogue overmold stock provides not only an ergonomic grip but also a camouflage aesthetic that is conducive to blending into various environments. With a length of pull measuring 14 inches and an overall length of 40 inches, the rifle is designed for comfort and ease of handling, catering to shooters of varying statures. The assembly weight of 7.6 lbs strikes a balance between stability and portability, making it suitable for both field use and range sessions. Additionally, the rifle is equipped with an AI .308 5-round magazine, providing a compact yet effective capacity for hunting or target shooting. Each rifle comes with a custom shop assembly sheet that outlines specific specifications, further emphasizing the attention to detail and craftsmanship involved in its creation. This sheet can be viewed in pictures 6-12, offering prospective buyers insight into the quality and customization options available. Overall, this Custom Shop Remington 700 stands out as a formidable option for discerning marksmen seeking both performance and reliability in a precision rifle.
