The Remington Model 700 stands as a cornerstone in the realm of bolt-action rifles, tracing its origins to the innovative designs of Mike Walker in the post-World War II era. Walker’s pursuit of a cost-effective and efficient rifle led to the development of the Model 721 and 722 series, which laid the groundwork for the iconic Model 700, first introduced in 1962. Its influence extended into military applications, notably shaping sniper rifles such as the M24 and M40, which became trusted tools for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. The Model 700's design accommodates various configurations, including both detachable box magazines and traditional internal magazines, enhancing its adaptability for diverse shooting preferences and environments. With a reputation for reliability, the Model 700 offers a wide range of stock, barrel, and caliber options, making it a benchmark in precision shooting. The Custom Shop Remington 700 exemplifies high-performance engineering tailored specifically for precision shooting and reliability. Central to this exceptional rifle is a 24-inch bead blasted/white stainless steel fluted barrel featuring a 1:10 twist and a recessed crown muzzle. This barrel design not only enhances accuracy by promoting optimal bullet stabilization but also protects the crown from potential damage, ensuring consistent performance over time. The bead-blasted finish adds a layer of durability while reducing glare, making it an excellent choice for varied shooting environments. Integral to the rifle’s functionality is the Remington Model 7 XMP right-hand black trigger, which offers a smooth and precise pull weight of 5 pounds and 5.8 ounces. This trigger provides excellent tactile feedback, allowing shooters to achieve accurate shot placement with minimal effort—crucial for both competitive shooting and hunting applications. The rifle is complemented by Remington 700 long action DBM M5 Oberndorf bottom metal, enhancing both reliability and ease of use during magazine changes, which is particularly beneficial in high-pressure scenarios. Adding to the rifle’s innovative design is the Peak 44 6014M5-K35 DBM long action stock, constructed from aerospace-grade carbon fiber. This stock not only ensures exceptional strength and durability but also boasts a striking dark grey and light grey sponge finish that enhances grip and comfort during use. The lightweight construction of the stock contributes to the rifle's overall balance, improving handling and maneuverability. Additionally, the integrated 3DHEX recoil pad effectively mitigates felt recoil, allowing shooters to maintain focus and control, even during prolonged firing sessions. The inclusion of swivel studs further enhances the rifle’s versatility, accommodating slings for easy transport. The rifle is fitted with an MDT 3.715 - .30-06 magazine, ensuring reliable feeding and a smooth shooting experience. With a length of pull measuring 13.5 inches and an overall length of 44.75 inches, this rifle is designed to accommodate a wide range of shooters, providing a comfortable and stable shooting platform. Weighing in at 6.4 pounds, it strikes a commendable balance between portability and stability, making it an ideal choice for both field use and range sessions. Each Custom Shop Remington 700 is accompanied by a custom shop assembly sheet that outlines specific specifications, emphasizing the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail that defines this rifle. This sheet, viewable in pictures 6-12, provides prospective buyers with valuable insights into the quality and customization options available, reinforcing the rifle’s premium status. In summary, the Custom Shop Remington 700 represents a perfect fusion of innovative design, high-quality materials, and superior engineering, making it a standout option for discerning marksmen and enthusiasts seeking both performance and reliability in a precision rifle.
