The RM380 is Remington’s all-metal micro .380 ACP pocket pistol, officially announced in 2015, and released late 2015, and publicly showcased at the 2016 SHOT Show, with reviews appearing later that year. Developed from the Rohrbaugh micro-pistol design, it retains the compact, all-metal layout while incorporating Remington’s refinements. The pistol is hammer-fired, double-action-only, and operates on a short-recoil, locked-breech system with dual nested recoil springs and pronounced rear slide serrations for easier manipulation. Remington built it with a machined 7075-T6 aluminum frame and a stainless steel slide and barrel, resulting in an unloaded weight of approximately 12.2 ounces and a 6+1 single-stack capacity (with optional extended floorplate). Contemporary reviews praised its concealability, build quality, and overall reliability compared with many polymer “mouse guns.”
