Item Description
Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this scarce semi-automatic rifle for a penny-start auction; this is the Rock-Ola M1 Carbine.
The Rock-Ola M1 Carbine is considered rare and highly desirable among collectors due to its relatively low wartime production, with approximately 228,500 rifles manufactured—fewer than any WWII contractor except Irwin-Pedersen. This limited output, combined with the company’s distinctive “jukebox” legacy and the scarcity of original-condition examples, has made the Rock-Ola carbine a premium and highly sought-after variant of the M1 Carbine.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Manufacturer: Rock-Ola
Model: M1 Carbine
Serial: 4609387
Caliber: .30 Carbine
Finish: Parkerized
Barrel Length: 18"
Optics/Sights: Wing-Protected Blade Front with Adjustable Aperture Rear
Stock/Grips: Plain Hardwood Stock

Markings: Standard / The top of the receiver and barrel are both marked “ROCK-OLA.”
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Rock-Ola M1 Carbine is one of the more distinctive variants of the U.S. military’s M1 Carbine produced during World War II. Manufactured by the Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corporation—best known before the war for jukeboxes and coin-operated machines—these carbines were produced under government contract between 1942 and 1943. Like all U.S. M1 Carbines, the Rock-Ola examples were chambered in .30 Carbine and featured a lightweight, gas-operated, semi-automatic action intended to provide rear-echelon troops, paratroopers, and support personnel with a compact and effective defensive firearm. Rock-Ola carbines were produced to standard Ordnance specifications, utilizing parts from multiple subcontractors, which was common practice during wartime production.

From a historical and collector perspective, Rock-Ola M1 Carbines are especially prized due to their relatively low production numbers compared to other prime contractors. Original examples retaining correct Rock-Ola-marked components and early wartime features are particularly desirable, as many carbines were rebuilt or updated during postwar arsenal refurbishments. The association of the Rock-Ola name with an iconic American military arm adds an unusual and compelling layer of industrial history, highlighting the breadth of U.S. wartime manufacturing mobilization. Today, the Rock-Ola M1 Carbine stands as both a functional military rifle and a tangible reminder of how the civilian industry was rapidly adapted to meet the demands of global conflict.
