The Romarm GP WASR-10/63 is a Romanian-manufactured 7.62×39mm semi-automatic AK-pattern rifle that has become one of the most recognizable and widely encountered civilian Kalashnikov variants in the United States. Produced by Romarm (Regia Autonoma Româna a Industriei de Aparare) at the historic Cugir Arsenal, the WASR-10/63 originated as a military-spec rifle built from surplus Romanian Model 63 military components, including original barrels, trunnions, bolts, bolt carriers, and front sight assemblies, before being converted for civilian export. The rifle uses the classic long-stroke gas piston system designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, renowned for its simplicity, durability, and reliability in adverse conditions with minimal maintenance. Chambered in 7.62×39, the WASR-10/63 feeds from standard double-stack AK magazines, typically featuring a stamped steel receiver, fixed wooden stock, wood handguards, and a slant or muzzle brake depending on import configuration. Early imports were single-stack and later opened up to accept standard magazines, which led to some examples exhibiting slightly uneven magazine wells, a cosmetic trait often associated with the model but rarely affecting function. The rifle is equipped with traditional AK iron sights, including a hooded front post adjustable for elevation and windage and a tangent rear sight graduated for distance. Known for its rugged construction, chrome-lined barrel, and combat-proven design, the Romarm GP WASR-10/63 has earned a reputation as a workhorse AK—valued more for reliability and authenticity than refined finish—and it remains popular among shooters and collectors who want a true Eastern Bloc-built Kalashnikov with genuine military lineage and proven performance.

Any orders placed with magazines that are not compliant with your state, county, or city regulations will not ship with your order.
