Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The SIG P210-5 is the dedicated target and sporting version of the renowned Swiss SIG P210 pistol—rooted in the single-action, locked-breech, all-steel design that the Swiss Army adopted as the “Pistole 49” in 1949. It was refined for precision shooting with features such as a match-style trigger, micrometer-adjustable target sights, and extended-barrel configurations—most commonly the 150mm (5.9") barrel, though later target-model runs offered a 180mm (7.1") barrel option. Chambered in calibers such as 9mm and 7.65x21mm Parabellum, the P210-5 is highly regarded for the exceptional build quality, tight tolerances, and accuracy heritage of the P210 series. Importantly, there exists a rarer “Heavy Frame” sub-variant of the P210-5 (and of the P210-6) originally produced in the mid-1960s for Swiss national-match competition shooters; these heavy-frame models feature visibly reinforced, thicker-walled frames and greater mass to reduce recoil and enhance stability, representing the most refined and collectible examples of the Swiss-made P210 target pistols.
