The SIG Sauer P220 SAS (SIG Anti-Snag) in .45 ACP with a roughly 3¾-inch barrel is SIG’s compact, concealment-centric take on the original P220—essentially a full-power, all-metal .45 package pared down and “dehorned” for snag-free draw while keeping the P220’s stout short-recoil lockup and proven DA/SA lineage. What defines the SAS treatment is cosmetic and ergonomic restraint: the slide and controls are rounded and smoothed (slide edges and cocking serrations softened or shortened), low-profile or reduced takedown/slide-stop hardware replaces bulky levers. SIG often fits an FT Bullseye or embedded low-profile sight into the slide. Hence, the pistol clears leather and fabric cleanly—changes that make the gun much friendlier to deep concealment without compromising the solid slide-to-barrel fit that gives the P220 its accuracy and reliability.
