The Sig Sauer P230 is a compact, blowback-operated semi-automatic pistol that was developed in the late 1970s and introduced to the market in 1977 as a response to the growing need for a reliable, concealable sidearm for law enforcement and civilian concealed carry. Chambered primarily in .380 ACP (9mm Kurz), though also available in .32 ACP, the P230 was designed with simplicity, balance, and elegance in mind. It features a fixed barrel—a hallmark of blowback operation—that contributes to its impressive mechanical accuracy despite its compact dimensions.
