The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is a double-action revolver that uses the .44 Magnum cartridge to hold six shots. This firearm was produced by Smith & Wesson, a company based in the United States. The standard models of the Smith & Wesson Model 29 came in different barrel sizes, such as 3, 4, 5, 6, 6 1/2, 8 3/8, and 10 5/8 inches. However, other barrel lengths are available by special order from Smith & Wesson's Custom Shop or can be custom-built by gunsmiths. The version with a 5-inch barrel has a full-length underlug. The Model 29 had two finish options - a highly polished blued or nickel-plated surface. It was first introduced as one of the most powerful handguns available for production.
