Introduced in 2008 at the Las Vegas SHOT Show, the .327 Federal Magnum cartridge brought a new level of performance to compact revolvers. Initially chambered only in the Ruger SP101, it wasn't until January 2009 that Smith & Wesson responded with a robust variation of their Model 632—this time featuring an all-stainless steel frame and cylinder, a 3-inch profile-style barrel with a compensator port, and black-accented finish paired with adjustable rear and pinned ramp front sights.

Introduced in January 2009, this model was part of Smith & Wesson’s "Pro Comp Carry Series" and featured a robust all-stainless-steel construction built to handle the higher pressures of the relatively new .327 Federal Magnum cartridge, which had been unveiled just a year earlier. The revolver sports a 3-inch profile-style barrel complete with a compensator port near the muzzle to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil—enhancing control during rapid fire. The design includes an adjustable rear sight and a pinned ramp front sight mounted on a raised base, offering solid target acquisition in both defensive and recreational shooting scenarios.
