The Smith & Wesson Model 915 is a full-size 9mm handgun produced by Smith & Wesson as part of the company’s third-generation series of semi-automatic pistols that were widely used by law enforcement agencies and civilian shooters during the late 20th century. Introduced in the mid-1990s, the Model 915 was designed as a more affordable version of the well-known Smith & Wesson Model 5906, retaining much of the same proven mechanical design but with simplified features to reduce manufacturing costs. Chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, the pistol operates using a traditional short-recoil, locked-breech system and features a double-action/single-action trigger mechanism, allowing the first shot to be fired with a longer double-action pull followed by lighter single-action trigger pulls as the slide cycles.
