The Ithaca Crass shotgun was a type of double-barreled shotgun produced by the Ithaca Gun Company from 1883 to 1926. It was named after its designer, Emil Andrew Crass, who worked for Ithaca from 1883 until his death in 1918. The Ithaca Crass shotgun was known for its high-quality craftsmanship and innovative features, such as the Crass action, which was a unique locking mechanism that allowed for a smoother and faster reloading of the shotgun. The Crass action was later improved upon by Ithaca with the introduction of the Flues action in 1908. Today, Ithaca Gun Company produces a wide range of shotguns, including models based on the Crass and Flues designs, as well as newer models featuring modern designs and technology.
