The Remington Model 41 "Targetmaster" is a single shot bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 Caliber Rimfire. It was manufactured in Ilion, New York, and was introduced in 1936 to replace the Model 33. The 41 was available in two grades: P and A. The P grade had a 27-inch round barrel, one-piece American walnut pistol grip stock with a beaver-tail fore-end, a shotgun-style butt plate, a hooded front sight, and a Remington receiver-mounted peep rear sight. The A grade rifle was the same as the P grade except that the front sight was a white metal bead, and the rear sight was a step adjustable sporting type.

Remington halted Model 41 production in December of 1939 after producing 306,880 rifles when they introduced the Model 510 Targetmaster to replace it. This rifle was a popular choice for boys to learn on, to plink old tin cans, and to hunt with. Its single shot loading system was strong, simple, and reliable. It also taught the shooter how to make that one shot count.
