Markings: Top receiver stamped with Mauser "BYF" code, Right side receiver stamped with "Mauser 655 Dutch luger contract Proof mark" this proof mark was only stamped on some Dutch contract lugers.

This piece is a 4 inch (100mm) 9mm Parabellum. ''41" dates are representative of the Luger accepted by the German military in 1941. In February 1941 Mauser changed from the 42 code to byf, with two-digit ''41" dates are representative of the Luger contract production accepted by the German military in 1941.
The P08 Luger is a toggle-locked recoil-operated semi-automatic pistol that was produced in several models and by several nations from 1898 to 1948. Captured Lugers were much prized by Allied soldiers during both of the world wars as war trophies and many were sent home to the United States.
This example is the RARE Black Widow Luger, Identified by its black grips and magazine floorplate!
Condition and Contents:
As you can see in the many high resolution photos, this Mauser is in Outstanding condition for its age showing no evidence of excessive consumer use or handling that we can see! Additionally, it will ship with a leather holster, tool, and an extra magazine.
