Originally manufactured by Springfield Armory, the 1903A3 was a collaboration between Smith-Corona, Remington Arms, and High Standard Manufacturing during World War II when the U.S. military required an increased production rate for rifles. Over 234,000 rifles were produced by Smith-Corona, making it a key component of the U.S. military’s arsenal during the conflict.
