For auction, today is this Smith & Wesson K-22 Masterpiece Pre-Model 17 double-action revolver chambered in .22LR. This model features the serial number K49902, which is matched on the butt of the frame, cylinder face, behind the star extractor, and on the barrel flat. The K-frame Pre-Model 17, finished in blue steel, is in phenomenal condition, showing no signs of regular use or handling. It is fitted with the original checkered walnut stocks with silver S&W medallions and diamonds around the screw escutcheon. Based on our research and the serial number, this Pre-Model 17 was manufactured in 1948. This six-shot double-action revolver is built on Smith & Wesson's medium-sized K-frame. Although its origins date back to the early 1930s, and it has since been discontinued, it remains highly sought after by both shooters and collectors. The K-22 Masterpiece serves as an excellent companion to .38 caliber target revolvers and is also well-suited as a field revolver for small game.
