Up for grabs is a Smith & Wesson K-22 Masterpiece Pre-Model 17 double-action revolver chambered in .22LR. All matching Serial Number K53180 on the butt of the frame, cylinder face, behind the star extractor, and on the barrel flat! This K-frame Pre-Model 17 with a blue steel finish is in Phenomenal condition showing no evidence of regular use or handling and features wooden grips with right handed thumb rest. Through our research, we believe this Pre-Model 17 was manufactured in 1948. A six shot double-action revolver built on Smith & Wesson's medium-sized K-frame. This classic Smith & Wesson .22 caliber target revolver had its beginnings way back in the early 1930s and is now discontinued, yet it is still an extremely popular item among both shooters and collectors. It serves the needs of target shooters wanting a companion piece to .38 caliber target revolvers as well as filling a niche for a field revolver suitable for small game. A more accurate .22 wheel gun has never been made, and S&W was entirely correct in calling it a "Masterpiece."
