Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Manufactured by Steyr in Austria, here's a Mannlicher-Schöenauer Model 1952 Carbine. Chambered for the .270 Win., this carbine wears a 20" barrel and is fitted with a Custom full-length stock with detachable sling swivels. It is equipped with the unique 5-shot rotary magazine and double-set triggers. This carbine is set up with a Griffin & Howe quick detach mount which holds a Leupold Plainsman 2-1/4x scope. The rear sight dovetail on the barrel is a folding notch. Serial numbers are matching on the receiver, barrel and on the butter-knife bolt handle. The Austrian proofs show it was manufactured in 1953.
This Mannlicher-Schöenauer Model 1952 Carbine is fitted with a Leupold Plainsman 2-1/4x scope with a Leupold multiplier objective lens which increases the magnification to 8x. The scope has unique internal windage and elevation adjustments inside of its' 7/8" tube. This scope is in very good to excellent overall condition. There are a few minor scratches and very minor fading in the finish, but no significant metal damage. The optics are amazingly clear, especially considering the vintage of the scope. It has a fine crosshair reticle. The scope is marked "Leupold & Stevens Instruments, Portland Oregon, Patent Pending". The adjustment dials turn easily and lock into place.
