The Remington 870 is one of the quintessential American shotguns. Introduced in 1950, the 870 is still in production today with more than 11 million having been produced, in use by military units, law enforcement officers and sportsmen around the world. The Model 870AP is a Standard Field Grade pump action shotgun with a five-shot capacity. Designed with a hammerless action on a solid breech, it is a takedown type with a crossbolt safety and will accommodate all 2 3/4-inch, standard or high-velocity shells. This is a early model production 870AP Wingmaster chambered for 2 3/4" 16 gauge shells. Even now, nearly 70 years after it was made, this shotgun would be great for upland bird, and in its condition and being an early model production, it would also make a nice addition to a Remington shotgun collection.
