The Colt Marshal, produced from 1954 to 1956, is a rare round-butt variant of the Colt Official Police revolver, with only about 2,500 made. Chambered in .38 Special and offered in 2- and 4-inch barrels, it was designed for portability and concealed carry without sacrificing Colt’s signature reliability. Featuring a blued finish and checkered walnut grips with silver medallions, the Marshal combined functional design with classic styling. Its limited production and distinct features make it a prized collectible and a notable part of Colt's history.
According to the included factory letter, this particular example was shipped to Marshal's Sporting Goods at First and Madison Street in Seattle, Washington, on August 31, 1955. The letter also notes that Colt’s shipping records indicate Marshal model revolvers were marked with an “M” suffix in their serial numbers.
