The Remington Woodsmaster Model 740 is a rifle that was made by Remington Arms from 1955 to 1959. It is a semi-automatic rifle with a 22-inch barrel and a magazine that holds four rounds. Originally, it was made in 30-06 and .308 calibers, but .244 and .280 calibers were made available later on. The rifle has a walnut stock and a blued metal barreled action. It was later replaced by the Remington Model 742 in 1960 and the Remington Model 7400 in 1980.
