Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this RARE AND DESIRABLE bolt-action rifle today for a penny-start auction; this is the Winchester 52-C US Property Stamped!
The Winchester Model 52-C U.S. Property–marked rifles are among the most desirable variants of the famed Model 52, widely regarded as one of the finest rimfire target rifles ever produced. These government-marked examples were procured for military training programs, ROTC units, and marksmanship schools, where precision and consistency were essential for developing foundational shooting skills. The “U.S. PROPERTY” rollmark elevates them from exceptional target rifles to historically significant military trainers, adding both scarcity and collector appeal. Known for their superb triggers, match-grade barrels, and outstanding accuracy, the 52-C represents the pinnacle of Winchester’s mid-century rimfire craftsmanship. A U.S. Property–marked example combines that mechanical excellence with true military provenance, making it a standout addition to any collection focused on precision rifles or American martial history.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Winchester Model 52, introduced in 1920, is a renowned bolt-action .22 caliber rifle celebrated for its exceptional accuracy and craftsmanship. Originally developed to meet the U.S. Army's need for a smallbore training rifle, it quickly gained popularity among civilian target shooters. These Winchester Rimfire rifles featured a five-shot box magazine, a "Speedlock" bolt mechanism, which was introduced in 1929 to reduce lock time, and adjustable sights. Throughout its production run, the Model 52 evolved into several variants, numbered 52A to 52E, each incorporating refinements such as improved triggers, stock designs, and bedding systems. Production of the Model 52 concluded in 1980, with over 125,000 units manufactured. Despite its discontinuation, the Model 52 remains a highly regarded rifle among collectors and vintage marksmen for its enduring accuracy and historical significance.
