This Colt Single Action Army 2nd Generation “West Virginia Centennial” was produced in 1963 as a factory commemorative honoring the 100th Anniversary of West Virginia's statehood. Created as a special presentation piece rather than a standard production revolver, it was manufactured in a limited run of 600 examples, each marked with a distinctive serial number in the 25WVC through 624WVC range. Today, the West Virginia Centennial is recognized as one of Colt’s mid-century limited editions, appreciated by collectors for both its craftsmanship and its place in Colt’s long history of commemorative models.

Early models featured a simple fixed front sight with a rear notch, ensuring durability and ease of use in field conditions.
