Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Colt Single Action Army (also known as the Model P, Peacemaker, M1873, Single Action Army, SAA, ) is a single-action revolver with a revolving cylinder holding six metallic cartridges. It was designed for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1873 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company, today Colt’s Manufacturing Company, and adopted as the standard military service revolver until 1892. It is perhaps the most copied, fraudulently modified to replicate an original Colt SAA than any other revolver made.

The Colt Single Action Army Colonel Sam Colt Sesquicentennial Commemorative revolver is chambered in .45 Colt and is a limited edition model. Only 5,000 of these revolvers were produced to celebrate the 150th birthday of the famous gun maker and his greatest invention: The Colt Revolver. The revolver has a beautiful two-tone finish, with the barrel, frame, hammer, and trigger in blue, and all other parts, including the screws, nickel-plated. The cylinder is engraved with a leafy pattern, along with Colt’s name, a Rampant Colt, a Patterson revolver, and the Colt Factory dome. This revolver is highly collectible and scarce, making it a prized addition to any collection. According to the Commemorative letter, In tribute to the 150th Anniversary of Col. Sam Colt's birth, Colt's patent Firearms Manufacturing Co. has manufactured a limited edition of 5,000 Col. SamL Colt Sesquicentennial Model revolvers.

The Single Action Army was chosen for this model since this gun carries with it a remembrance of things past. Colt Firearms are part of the Great American romantic age and the grand tradition of the American frontier. Therefore, this Anniversary Model not only pays homage to the man, but to the era that he represents. The design of the Single Action .45 Caliber Revolver reflects the symmetry of another century but is made with the best available steels of today by Colt's custom craftsmen. The unusual barrel rollmark has been fashioned from Col. Colt's unique signature which has been faithfully reproduced from an original document and appears below. The unfluted cylinder carries the engraving of the mosque-like dome which still dominates the Colt's factory. It is on the same ground where Samuel Colt once dwelled.

Feel fully confident that this weapon out of antiquity has been made of the finest materials by today's finest handgun craftsmen. You will find, in addition to its beauty, that it is a solid shooting gun. We are pleased that you own it.
