The Single Action Frontier Scout and Single Action Army Nevada Statehood Centennial .22/.45 Combo was manufactured in 1964, with only approximately 189 sets produced, making it a rare collector's item. These unique sets were distinguished by specific serial number ranges for the Frontier Scout, which included 0001NS to 1752NS, as well as 1846NS, 1964NS, and 2001NS to 4996NS. The Single Action Army revolvers in this combo featured their own serial number designations, ranging from 0001NC to 1752NC, along with 1864NC, 1964NC, and 2001NC to 2700NC. This limited production and distinctive serial numbering enhance the historical significance and desirability of this commemorative set.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
At the onset of World War II, Colt halted production of the iconic Single Action Army revolver to prioritize fulfilling military orders. After the war, the company did not plan to resume production of the revolver, as its design was considered outdated. However, the rise of television and the popularity of Western-themed films sparked renewed customer interest in this classic firearm. In response, Colt relaunched the Single Action Army revolver in 1956 with the introduction of the Second-Generation line. These Second-Generation Colt Single Action Army revolvers were manufactured from 1956 to 1974 and featured serial numbers ranging from 0001SA to 73,205SA.

In 1956, Colt reintroduced the Single Action Army after a 15-year hiatus, marking the return of one of the West's most beloved firearms. However, with a retail price of around $125—equivalent to roughly $1,215 today—affording this iconic revolver posed a challenge for many families. To address this demand, Colt introduced the Colt Frontier Scout in 1957, which remained in production until 1970. The Frontier Scout was designed to be more accessible, featuring a slightly smaller and lighter frame compared to its larger bore counterpart, the Single Action Army. During its production run, Colt offered various versions of the Frontier Scout, primarily differing in finishing options and grip styles. In the years that followed, Colt continued to evolve its lineup with the Peacemaker .22 and later introduced the "New Frontier Scout," ensuring that families could still enjoy a piece of the cowboy dream without breaking the bank.
