According to the included factory letter, this Colt was shipped to Phillip Gall & Son 117 S. Upper Street in Lexington, Kentucky on November 16, 1966.

The Colt Python is a .357 Magnum caliber revolver manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut and is widely considered the best mass production revolver ever to be made available to the General Public. It was first introduced in 1955, the same year as Smith & Wesson's M29 .44 Magnum. The Colt Python was intended for the premium revolver market segment.
