The Colt Single Action Army Frontier Scout “Nebraska Centennial” is a limited edition revolver that was produced in 1967 to commemorate Nebraska's 100th Anniversary and wore serial numbers ranging from 1NEB to 7000NEB! This particular example bears serial #4071NEB, making it number 4,071 out of the 7,000 produced.

The region that would become Nebraska was largely unsettled, inhabited mainly by various Native American tribes, until the mid-19th century. The passage of the Homestead Act in 1862 led to a wave of American settlers moving westward. This migration gained even more momentum following the end of the Civil War, and by 1867, just two years after the war's conclusion, enough settlers had arrived for Nebraska to apply for statehood. On March 1, 1867, Nebraska was admitted as the 37th state of the Union. The state capital was relocated from Omaha to Lancaster, which was subsequently renamed Lincoln in honor of the recently assassinated President Abraham Lincoln. Since then, Nebraska has been a dynamic and integral part of the United States.
