Right side of the slide is engraved with leaf scroll work encompassing the phrase "NORTH ATLANTIC * TUNISIA * SICILY * PLOESTI * SALERNO * ANZIO * NORMANDY * BASTOGNE * REMAGEN * BERLIN." The serial number, manufacturer, and address are stamped on the right side of the frame.

This pistol is a beautiful Colt Government Model 1911A1 pistol with a nickel finish and engravings commemorating some of the most pivotal battles in the European Theater of Operations during WWII. The pistol comes with a wooden display case which is nicely decorated with a scene of Rheims on May 7th, 1945, and additional commemoration of battles. For the Colt 1911 collector, maybe even any Colt collector, this would make a great addition to a collection. This is an amazing tribute to the contribution America has made to keep the world free.
