These two WWII Commemorative 1911s from Colt honor the European and Pacific Theaters of operation during World War Two. These highly collectible pistols are chambered in 45 ACP and feature walnut grips. The grips handsomely compliment these 1911s nickel finished slides which feature engraved scrollwork along with the names of several important locations throughout the Allies European and Pacific campaigns respectively. Both pistols have their own box featuring scenes from the German surrender at Rheims and the Japanese surrender at Tokyo respectively.
These beautiful examples are both number 1563 of 11,501 total manufactured in the PTO/ETO series. The low serial number and extraordinary condition of these pistol makes them highly desirable among collectors and enthusiasts.
