The Winchester Lone Star Commemorative rifle was produced as a limited-edition tribute, with a total production run capped at 38,385 units, each uniquely serialized within the dedicated range LS1 through LS38385. This particular example, bearing the exceptionally low serial number LS52, represents one of the earliest units manufactured in the series, significantly enhancing its appeal among collectors. The Winchester-Western Division of Olin Corporation has designed and produced a special limited edition rifle and carbine to commemorate the State of Texas as the frontier of freedom. Each firearm is certified as part of this exclusive issue, manufactured between January 1, 1970, and December 31, 1970.
