Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Browning 22 Semi-Auto rifle, also referred to as the Semi-Automatic 22 or SA-22, is a disassembling rifle manufactured by FN Herstal based on a patent by John Browning. Currently, Browning produces the rifle as the Semi-Auto 22. The production of this rifle started in Belgium in 1914 and continued until 1973. Miroku took over the production in 1974 in Japan. The rifle was first exported by FN to the American market in 1956. The SA-22 is notable for being the first semi-automatic rifle ever produced chambered in .22 LR caliber and is considered a classic firearm. It has been offered in several "grades" of engraving and gold inlay, and is a widely collected gun, especially those manufactured in Belgium. Over half a million SA-22 rifles have been sold since 1914.
