Developed by John Browning and finalized by Dieudonné Saive, the Hi-Power’s design was a breakthrough in its time, primarily due to its 13-round magazine capacity, which was unprecedented for a military sidearm of that era. This feature earned the pistol the "High Power" moniker. Widely used during World War II, the Hi-Power served in various roles across many military forces, having been produced by FN Herstal and later by various international manufacturers. Known for its reliability, it has remained a favorite among both military and civilian users. After decades of production, the Hi-Power was discontinued in 2018, but its legacy has been revived with new iterations and clones, keeping its spirit alive.
